Sweet and savory pear nachos with glazes pecans, chevre cheese, pomegranate seeds and balsamic. A unique snack or dessert!
Lately it seems like nachos have kind of been my thing.
Now, I know these pear nachos are not really “nachos.” There have been a person or two over the years comment they were boycotting my apple nachos because they should not be called “nachos” at all.
Let me just say that I do NOT claim these to be substitutes for nachos in the tortilla chip sense. I’m just going off the same fruit-nacho concept that I came across years ago. So please don’t be mad!
I’ve made these pear nachos before, when I didn’t know the difference between balsamic glaze and vinegar.
If you’ve seen my balsamic vinegar fail before, you know how messy that stuff can be!
So trust me when I say, the glaze is much prettier.
This topping combination was inspired by these balsamic pear nachos and this time I decided to kick up the sweetness a little bit with these Valdosta Pecans Glazed Mix by Sahale Snacks. The cranberries and orange zest and black pepper add that ZING that’s so delicious.
I was lucky I bought two bags because I kept snacking on them in between photos.
And better yet, they have no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, while also being kosher, gluten-free and non-GMO. (You know how we do around here.)
One of my favorite places to shop carries them – Target!
They can be found in the nuts and snacks aisle, along with their Naturally Pomegranate Vanilla Flavored Cashews Glazed Mix (with pomegranate flavored apples and Madagascar vanilla bean), Naturally Pomegranate Flavored Pistachios Glazed Mix (with cherries, lemon and black pepper) and Honey Almonds Glazed Mix (with cranberries, organic honey, toasted sesame seeds and sea salt).
Check your local store for which varieties they carry, and also use this Cartwheel coupon for an extra 25% off any of the nut blends through 10/21/17.
Do you use Cartwheel? If not, you totally should. I tell all my friends about it (seriously), and by reading this you’re my friend by default!
Does that make me a crazy coupon lady?
So be sure you use Cartwheel next time you go to Target and snag you some of these pecans.
You can thank me later.
