Looking for a fun dessert tray idea for your event? You’ve found it!

Whether it’s the closest thing you’ll see to snow all year, or you’ve just built a big snowman outside, this one is even better because you get to EAT it!

And of course you can make any of the individual dips for an easy dessert at any time too (they all have their own recipe page as well).

Save these recipes for movie night or a quick comfort food treat even if you don’t make the whole dessert tray.

The best part about this dessert dip party tray is that it is customizable! These dips work because they are all topped with something white, but you can add whipped cream to just about anything.

Pictured ramekin sizes are 3 ounces, 7 ounces and 14 ounces, but as long as each one is roughly double the size of the one above it, it should work!

You can often find different sizes for these at a thrift store or a place like Target. I linked to some options in the recipe card too.

All dipper choices are just suggestions, use whatever cookies, pretzels, sweet crackers, or fruit you’d like!

Ingredients

For the Sugar Cookie Dip (Snowman head)

  • 1⁄2 cup homemade whipped cream (or cool whip)
  • 1⁄4 cup vanilla pudding powder (see notes)
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1⁄2 tablespoon sprinkles (holiday colors)
  • black sprinkles and orange (or carrot-shaped) sprinkles - Halloween themed ones work here

For the Iced Oatmeal Cookie Dip

  • 1⁄2 cup homemade whipped cream (or cool whip)
  • 1⁄4 cup rolled oats
  • 1⁄3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

For the Hot Cocoa Dip

  • 1 cup marshmallow fluff
  • 1 cup homemade whipped cream (or cool whip)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1⁄4 cup hot fudge
  • 1⁄3 cup mini marshmallows

Dipper options:

  • Chocolate Oreos for the hat (plus a candy stripe belt for the ribbon if desired)
  • Mint chocolate cookies
  • Iced oatmeal cookies
  • Mini scones
  • Pretzels
  • Vanilla Oreos
  • Vanilla wafer cookies
  • Graham crackers

Instructions

  1. Sugar Cookie Dip
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Add in the whipped cream or cool whip and vanilla pudding powder. Mix until incorporated.
  3. Fold in the sprinkles.
  4. Transfer sugar cookie dip to a 3-4 oz serving ramekin.
  5. Place the black sprinkles onto the dip to form two eyes and a “coal” smile. Add the carrot or orange sprinkle for the snowman’s nose.
  6. Iced Oatmeal Cookie Dip
In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps.
  7. Add in the oats, powdered sugar, whipped cream, and brown sugar. Mix until fully incorporated.
  8. Transfer to a 7-8 oz serving ramekin.
  9. Top with additional whipped cream and (optional) crumbled iced oatmeal cookie.
  10. Hot Cocoa dip
In a small mixing bowl, mix together marshmallow fluff, cool whip, and cocoa powder with an electric mixer.
  11. Transfer to a 14 oz serving ramekin.
  12. Spoon the hot fudge over the dip and smooth it out with an offset spatula.
  13. Top with mini marshmallows!
  14. Board Construction
Place your three filled ramekin dishes into a snowman shape in the center of your serving board (largest ramekin at the bottom). Use small wooden measuring spoons for the arms (they can double as dessert spoons).
  15. Take the chocolate oreos and create a hat for the snowman (I did three layers of oreos to create the same height as the ramekin. Add a candy stripe belt for the ribbon of the hat.
  16. Fill in the remainder of the board with scones, pretzels, iced oatmeal cookies, vanilla oreos, mint chocolate cookies, vanilla wafer cookies, and graham crackers.
  17. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For the sugar cookie dip: An easy natural substitute is to use 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract or vanilla powder in place of the 1/4 cup vanilla pudding powder.
  • For all dips: I prefer a homemade version of Cool Whip instead of the store bought brand because of ingredients. This linked recipe from Thrify Frugal Mom is a good one!
