To make the yogurt custard, you just mix together Greek yogurt, an egg, and a little honey and vanilla extract.

Fruit toppings you can get creative with, this uses fresh strawberries, and frozen blueberries and raspberries.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Choosing Bread: Use thick-cut sandwich bread or something like brioche bread for the best results. Thin bread may not hold up well to the custard filling.
  • Fruit Variations: Feel free to experiment with different fruits like peaches, apples, or bananas. Fresh or frozen, both work well.
  • Sweetness Level: Adjust the honey to your taste. You can also use maple syrup or agave nectar as a substitute.

F.A.Q.’s

Can I use regular yogurt instead of Greek yogurt?

Yes, but Greek yogurt provides a thicker consistency, which works better for the custard.

What if I don’t have an airfryer?

You can bake the toasts in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, or until the bread edges are golden brown.

Can I make these toasts ahead of time?

These are best enjoyed fresh, but you can prepare the custard mixture ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to use.

How do I store leftovers?

Store any leftover yogurt custard toast in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer or oven before serving.

Can I freeze them?

It is not recommended to freeze the prepared toasts as the custard may become watery upon thawing.

How else can I customize these toasts?

Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to the custard mixture for extra flavor. Top with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a dessert version.
